"Sol LeWitt: Open Structure" - An Expanded Travel to Seoul in September
The Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo is pleased to announce that following its presentation in Tokyo, the exhibition “Sol LeWitt: Open Structure” will be on view at the Amorepacific Museum of Art in Seoul, South Korea, this autumn. A collaboration between the two institutions, this Seoul exhibition will showcase an expanded version of the curatorial framework originally conceived in Tokyo. As Sol LeWitt's first major solo exhibition in South Korea, it offers an overview of his expansive practice, encompassing wall drawings, structures, works on paper, and artist's books.

The Amorepacific Museum of Art (APMA) originated from the private collection of Suh Sung-whan, founder of the Amorepacific Corporation. Established as the Pacific Museum in 1979 and renamed in 2009, APMA has steadily expanded its public mission and collection, encompassing both Korean traditional art and international contemporary art through exhibitions, research, and publications.
Underlying all of APMA’s activities is a belief in the transformative potential of art. The museum regards art as a vital means of engaging with complex realities and strives to be a responsive and inclusive platform – one that amplifies diverse voices and fosters critical dialogue.
