Artist
Sam Metz
Born in UK. Lives and works in Hull, UK.
Sam Metz explores neurodiversity through their cross-disciplinary practice of drawing, animation, sculpture, and installation. The forms, materials, and production processes in their work reflect an engagement with their own bodily condition shaped by disability and with ways of sensing and processing that differ from the neurotypical. Often using stimming as a language of expression, Metz employs a deeply embodied approach to making, seeking to visualize and convey modes of perception and movement grounded in the experiences of neurodivergent people. For this exhibition, Metz presents new works based on their research in Tokyo.
