FAMEME

Born in 1983 in Penang, Malaysia, currently based in Taipei, Taiwan.
FAMEME is a descendant of a durian farming family and an entrepreneur, designer, and singer. Using the durian as a symbol of his diasporic and queer identity and as a motif for his creations, he engages in cross-cultural collaborations spanning diverse fields. Through his pop aesthetics and sense of humor, he subtly questions identities and social norms often shaped externally, while sharing new cultures and values. For this exhibition, FAMEME is launching a new music label, THORNITURE, featuring three rappers from Japan.
