Bakudapan Food Study Group

Formed in 2015. Based in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
Bakudapan Food Study Group is a collective of eight members from diverse backgrounds and with varied interests. Their research centers on food, both as a field of study and as an entry point for exploring broader socio-political issues in contemporary society, including migration, inequality, and environmental change.
For this exhibition, the group undertook a research project titled Spaces in Spices, focusing on spice as a medium to explore the complexities and dynamics of migration practices in and around Tokyo.
