"The PRISM" series is one of Nawa's PixCell series, turning motifs collected from the Internet into sculptures as virtual images. The surface of each work is a prism sheet that splits light into two directions. The image appears and disappears over and over again as you change the angle at which you view the work. As a result, the motif that ought to exist within the transparent box drifts like a virtual image. It may be physically in front of the viewer's eyes, but it cannot be touched. That prompts us to think about the implications this has for other things that we believe we can see, touch, or feel.
