"Dot-Movie works " are animations created by using a computer to capture images of dots drawn by dropping ink in a grid pattern, then rotating each layer individually. They are an attempt to express the visual experience of Air Cell in two dimensions. At first glance, the patterns appear to be just mechanical, but as each of the dots was actually created by hand, the screen displays subtle fluctuations.
*In Dot-Movie (Division), a separate image layer appears on the shadow of a person walking around on the dot movie image. The person becomes part of the image, breaking down and splitting up. Collaboration with Yasuaki Kakehi of Keio University.
