Mikiko ENDO
Mikiko ENDO is an architect who excels at producing spaces where parents and children can relax, or in which children of varying ages can play together. For this exhibition she has created a space inside the Atrium where people can interact around the works of KOSUGE1-16.
Goh IDETA
Goh IDETA produces installations, using simple techniques, that deal with the relationship between light and space or human senses. In this exhibition he takes a hint from the black-and-white stripe patterns used for infant visual screening, to create an animation work entitled,linesand also a new installation, entitledreflections, which comprises of approximately 8,000 mirrors fixed into a 6 square meter floor, to create a kaleidoscopic effect.
KOSUGE1-16
An enormous soccer board game requiring 12 players; aCyclodrome Gamein which adults and children of different physical ability can compete together on bicycles and tricycles; KOSUGE1-16 presents active works requiring communication and teamwork between strangers. A new work of 6-meter-tall tree, with colorful caterpillars made in collaboration with local children, will be shown.
Shinji OHMAKI
Shinji OHMAKI has produced numerous large-scale installations that create an entire space. In this exhibition, the viewer passes through a thin, white, fabric entrance into a new work consisting of floral designs painted on white felt, using various brightly-colored pigments, that covers a floor space of 250 square meters. The visitors are free to walk over this field of flowers, the outline of the petals and leaves gradually blurring as they become worn, engraving a record of the time they have spent there.
Saki Satom
Based in London, Saki Satom produces video works on the theme of unintentional gestures in everyday life or differences in culture and habits. In this exhibition the artist recreates the visual world of infants, using 16-mm. film to produce a poetic work overflowing with color as well as an inspiring work that visualizes a fantasy occurring within a deserted childs room.
