鬼頭健吾作品紹介

この作品はメディアコートのパンチングメタル壁にホースを編み込んでいき、色とりどりの液体をホースに流し込み、循環させる作品です。
今まで私は、線と空間の関係をフラフープや輪ゴムなどを使い、構築してきました。線が空間に配置される事により余白が生まれ、そして空間が絵画のように変化していく事を意図してきました。
今回の作品は、それの延長線上にある作品であり、最も規模が大きく、絵画性の強い作品です。メディアコートの壁に、ホースが編み込まれ、その中を液体が通る事により線が生まれます。starburst galaxyのように銀河の中で常に爆発し、消え、無くなりながらも新たに誕生していく状況をイメージしています。

ART WORK

In this work, hose is woven into the perforated metal wall of the Media Court. Liquids of various colors are then introduced into the hose and made to circulate.
Until now, I have employed such materials as hula-hoops and rubber bands in constructing relationships between lines and space. By placing lines in a space, I have sought to produce margins and transform the space into what is, in character, a picture.
The artwork I am creating this time-the work of largest scale and strongest pictorial character I have undertaken thus far-is an extension of that approach. Hose is woven into the Media Court wall, and liquids are run through the hose, thereby producing lines. By causing the liquids to run through the hose with air bubbles, the visual effect of moving lines is produced.
In this way, the artwork evokes the image of cosmic explosions and subsequent births of new stars, as in a “starburst galaxy”-phenomena that continually occur in the Milky Way.
